Iranian pastor refused to recant his faith and could be executed

An Iranian pastor arrested in 2009, was told by an Iranian court this year that he would be executed unless he converted to Islam. Pastor Nadarkhani was arrested while attempting to register his church. He was tried and found guilty of apostasy (abandoning Islam) in September 2010 and has been sentenced to death. The Supreme Court recently asked for a re-examination of his case to establish whether or not he had been a practicing Muslim before he converted to Christianity and the court ruled he wasn’t a practicing Muslim, but is still guilty of apostasy because he has Muslim ancestry.
